Minutes of the Board of Director's Meeting Tucson Community Meditation Center

February 3, 2009 

Board Members Present:  Blake Ashley, Ying Lin, Chuong Tran, Blake Barton, Debra Raeber, Linda Bacon, Frank Tomizuka 

The minutes from the last meeting, January 6, were approved. 

There was no Financial Report. 

Maintenance: 

Budget for Painting:  Linda says that we already approved $200 for painting.  There is a painting project planned on February 21 & 22 for the front room and kitchen.  It should cost about $100 in paint plus some snack for volunteers.   

Audrey Hoehne has been doing a great job cleaning the center every other Friday.   

Landscaping:  Jesus Dominguez has wired the back garden area to be on our automatic sprinkler system.  The cost was $350.  A motion was made and approved to pay Jesus.   

Ying thinks we should have a workday for the outside sometime in March.  Linda mentioned we should clean out and organize the outside storage shed. 

Library:  It was stated that Audrey has asked to organize our library.  A motion was made and approved that we ask Audrey to organize our library.  Chuong and Ying will work with her to discuss editing and the priority of what needs to be done. 

Annual Meeting:  There was a discussion about sending out an announcement inviting members to nominate board members.  A motion was made and approved that the Bylaws be changed to read that the call for nominations must be announced to members 45 days before the Annual Meeting.  Nominations must be received by the Nominations committee at least 30 days prior to the Annual Meeting. 

There was a motion made and approved that the Annual Meeting will be held on Sunday, April 5th at 11:00 am. 

Debra will send out an email announcing the meeting date to the members. 

Yard Sale:  The date for the TCMC Yard Sale was set for Saturday, April 25th.  It was decided that we will ask members to bring items beginning April 11th and place them in the back garden area.  Ying will be the email contact person. 

Eric Kolvig & Arinna Weisman Dharma Talk Feb 20th:  Linda B. will make a flyer and Frank will post it on our website. 

TCMC Mailbox:  Linda B. will begin checking the mailbox on a regular basis.
