Minutes of the Board of Director’s Meeting Tucson Community Meditation Center
February 22, 2007
Present: Chuong Tran, Della Estrada, Blake Ashley, Terry Magee, Debra Raeber
The minutes from the last meeting, January 11, 2007 were approved.
There was no financial report.
Anna Douglas/Howard Cohn Retreat at Pocket Sanctuary,
February 15 – 18: There were only 15 retreatants. Pocket Sanctuary agreed to accept payment for 17 people since the retreat did not fill up.
TCMC received approximately $400 in dana at the retreat.
Terry feels that non-residential retreats are much easier to do and cost less to put on. In the future she thinks TCMC should only sponsor 2 residential retreats per year. Residential retreats cost TCMC $80 per day to rent the facility with an additional $15 – 20 per day to cover expenses.
The board discussed the possibility of hosting Residential Retreats at the TCMC center.
Thursday evenings: Mary Grace Naughton has asked us about renting TCMC for 3 hours every other Thursday evening to teach yoga. TCMC would charge $15 per hour.
Yard Work Day: The bougainvillea needs to be cut back and the Bermuda grass trimmed. A gardening day was set for Sunday, March 11th at 10:00 am. Debra will send out an email about it.

The board approved their offer to purchase a pedestal sink.
Blake thinks that he may be able to fix the garbage disposal and would like to wait on replacing or removing it.
The board would like to go ahead with repairing the drywall in the back bedroom and Terry will call Sheryl and let her know that we would like to accept their generous offer to repair it.
Evaporative Cooler: Debra will call Temp/Con and get a price to repair the northern cooler, fix the pvc pipe, float valve and replace the pad.
Zendo maintenance: A member has offered a 6 x 11 rug for the zendo.
The board felt it might be better to use it in the back bedroom. Space heaters may need to be purchase before next winter as the zendo can be quite cold.
We also discussed the possibility of hanging a shade to cover the fireplace.
Blake mentioned that the article he wrote about meditation will go out in the newsletter for the City of Tucson this month.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:00 pm.
